facet
In short and in plain language
A facet is a filter in a list of products.
With it you narrow the list, for example by size, color or brand. Often the shop shows how many products are left.
The shop works out these counts again with each choice. This can put load on the server.
Definition
A facet is a filter on category and search pages that narrows results by a property such as size, color or brand. For each choice, the shop usually shows how many items remain. These counts are recalculated with every change and can put load on the server and search.
